I just wanted to keep you updated about our French classes. We have been making huge progress with speaking and writing in French.
Lately, with K-3, we have been learning vocabulary words and sentences about Fall, Halloween, numbers up to 20, days of the week, jobs, and school supplies. We have been focusing on speaking the language, but I am going to integrate more writing activities into the lessons after the break. Here are additional links and resources for your students to practice at home:
Grades 4 through 7, we have been learning about daily routines, activities, family, the alphabet, and focused on a personal presentation. You can access your child's presentation through Google Classroom. We also covered topics, such as the present tense of the verbs "to be" and "to have". I have many exciting activities for next trimester, such as an interview with a French native. The students will prepare an interview in French, and they will interview a young french student to find out what life is like in France. I will keep you posted about this activity. I asked the 7th grade students to put their phones in French, please make sure that they keep it that way :) Here are some links that you might enjoy:

Madame Neipert Bonjour a tous08/25/2017 I just wanted to keep you updated on our progress and activities. We had an amazing week learning! We have been studying numbers, colors, and body parts (mostly facial) using the theme of monsters. I have been introducing different topics and activities to make learning fun and motivating for all. At the beginning of the week, the students learned colors utilizing "macaron", and many of them wanted to try them, so I decided to bring some for our last day of school this week. The students loved them. I also wanted to share some links if you wanted extra practice for your students. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atNkI6QFZ50 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwGzcbsaPyA - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPPIT1nbe7Q - http://boom.cards/fastplay/qkb9 PIN: qkb9 - https://www.mindsnacks.com/ (app) Have a great weekend. Madame Neipert Les animaux de la ferme09/04/2017 I hope that you are enjoying your long weekend with your family. I wanted to share with you what we have learned this week and also share some links for you to help your students at home. This week, we learned about farm animals. Please ask your students how to say horse, pig, cow, chicken, dog, cat, goat, and more for extra practice. I also added some links below for your students to practice at home. For grade 4-7, I just wanted to remind you that your students have French homework. They usually have at least 10 minutes depending on the grade. Please make sure that they are working on their French at home. The homework is mostly on Quizlet for now, and I have noticed that some students do not come prepared to class. I will keep you updated individually if this problem continues. Thank you for your help and your support. For grade 7, I have introduced more grammar/conjugation into the instruction, and the students seem to respond well. They come to class with a smile and show a lot of enthusiasm toward learning. So far, we have covered a good amount of information, such as numbers, colors, farm animals, fruits, and more. With the higher grades, we have also covered topics, such as days of the week, present tense, personal pronouns, and telling time. This week, we are introducing a new program for the lower grades (K-4). It is called Muzzy. It is an interactive platform, and the students will be able to do games at home (for extra practice). I will keep you posted. On Friday, we will have a French party. I will teach the students to make some crêpes. I will send you a permission slip to allow your student to participate. For K-3, we have been working on learning fruits, vegetables, and recently about fall. By the end of the week, we are going to move onto Halloween. I am excited because I have some really fun activities planned for your children. Additionally, we have been preparing for our assembly. Your children will participate in the assembly on the 18th of October at 08:15. Please practice with your student the song "Dans la ferme de Maturin" for the assembly. Parents are welcome to attend the assembly :) For grades 4-7, we also have been working really hard. We have been learning about time, daily routines, classroom objects and commands. With 7th grade, I also introduced some topics, such as the verb "être" in the present tense. Last week, I have been assessing your students on their oral skills and comprehension. On Monday (tomorrow), I will be assessing their writing skills. I will keep you updated on their progress.
